Robinhood changed the trading industry in the US with commission-free trades and a very simple app.

If you’re a European investor, you might be wondering whether you can use Robinhood in your country, and what you can actually buy with it. This article explains Robinhood’s availability in Europe in 2026, what the European app offers and which alternatives to consider.

Is Robinhood available in Europe?

Yes, Robinhood is available in Europe in 2026, but it is a very different product from the US app. In the European Union, Robinhood operates through Robinhood Europe UAB, a Lithuanian company authorised by the Bank of Lithuania, and it does not offer real stocks or ETFs.

In Europe, users can:

  • Trade Classic Stock Tokens, derivatives that track the price of more than 2,000 US stocks and ETFs;
  • Buy and sell more than 65 cryptocurrencies;
  • Trade tokens that reference private companies such as SpaceX and OpenAI;
  • Stake selected cryptocurrencies (ETH and SOL);
  • Trade perpetual futures on crypto and, since July 2026, on commodities, ETFs and FX, with up to 10x leverage;
  • Earn a yield on uninvested euros through a money market fund;
  • Send and receive crypto to and from external wallets.

In Europe, users cannot:

  • Buy real stocks or ETFs (including UCITS ETFs);
  • Trade options;
  • Invest in bonds or through local tax-advantaged accounts.

What are Robinhood’s Classic Stock Tokens?

Robinhood launched stock tokens for EU customers in June 2025. In July 2026, it renamed them Classic Stock Tokens, after launching a separate product called Stock Tokens in its Robinhood Wallet app.

Despite the name, Classic Stock Tokens are not shares. They are derivative contracts between you and Robinhood Europe UAB that track the price of a US-listed stock or ETF, similar to a CFD. When you buy an Apple token, you don’t own any Apple shares, you have no voting rights, and dividends are replaced by cash payments from Robinhood. The tokens cannot be transferred to another broker or wallet.

Robinhood says it hedges its position by buying the underlying shares for its own account, but those shares belong to Robinhood, not to you. The advantages are 24/5 trading, fractional investing from €1 and access to US ETFs such as VOO or QQQ, which European retail investors normally cannot buy. The trade-offs are counterparty risk to Robinhood Europe UAB and a tax treatment that, in many countries, is less favourable than for real shares.

Investor protection is also lower than at most European brokers: the Lithuanian Liabilities to Investors Insurance Fund covers up to €22,000 per investor, and crypto-assets are not covered by any scheme.

Robinhood Europe’s fees

  • Classic Stock Tokens: no commission, but a 0.10% FX fee on each buy and sell (EUR to USD and back).
  • Crypto: 0.50% of the euro value per trade (EURC is fee-free).
  • Perpetual futures: 0.02% maker and 0.04% taker fees in total, plus funding rates.
  • Staking: Robinhood keeps 15% of the rewards.
  • Other fees: no inactivity, deposit or withdrawal fees (SEPA).

Uninvested euros can be placed in a J.P. Morgan EUR money market fund with a headline yield of 5% APY, which includes a promotional boost paid by Robinhood on top of the fund’s own yield. The rate is variable and the boost can be withdrawn. A money market fund is an investment, not a bank deposit.

Fees and rates checked in August 2026. For a full analysis, see our Robinhood Europe review on EU Personal Finance.
